A little taste of home.

Yesterday was very busy and eye opening day. The day started with meeting a homeless person and getting to know them, by taking them to breakfast(the breakfast plunge). we were able to. Meet the homeless this way,and shown them God's love by getting to know them and buying them breakfast. The 2 folks that we met were David and Shannon, who were very open with us talking about their situations and making us aware of the problems that face the homeless. We went to "The Crossing" to help next. "The Crossing" is a transitional housing facility for families facing addiction and homelessness. We worked in the kitchen and serving food to the homeless, along with cleaning the kitchen area, and eating lunch there. The students were amazing, with how hard they worked and the amount of work they accomplished. After going back to CSM for a brief break we were able to experience a small taste of home at Santiago's Mexican Restaurant, for some stuffed soppapillas and Indian tacos, it was great. on to the Lambuth Family Center, to play with homeless children, while their parents were taking life skills class to care for them better. The students were awesome once again.
